Kate

I’m Kate and I would like to be a Domestic Goddess. I’m not quite there yet but I am working on it!

My mother (Hi Mum!) is an amazing cook. I remember being packed off to bed as a youngster and hearing guests arrive for one of her  magnificent dinner parties. She was also known for her Pavlova. Her brother was a baker, and her sister a baker/professional cake decorator. So it’s in my blood I suppose.

I live in Hamilton, New Zealand with my three teenage sons and a ginger tabby called Crunch (Ginger Crunch. See? Even the cat is named after baked goodies.

I really like chocolate, peanut butter, and anything with chocolate and peanut butter together :D

I also feel great affection for lime milkshakes.

I feel considerably less affection for my vacuum cleaner.

I would like to learn how to photograph my creations properly … but that would involve purchasing a big girls camera. As a full time university student my budget doesn’t extend that far yet so it’s just me and my little ‘point and shoot’ Kodak for now.

Another item on my Christmas wishlist is a Kenwood or KitchenAid mixer. Then I’ll have really arrived!

My ingredients for success include huge amounts of chocolate chips, brown sugar and bourbon (only for making the Vanilla Extract… seriously!).

Thank you for reading.
